Entry - sub-50%, but I'm happy with it:

Note: It's still motion panning if you're panning slowly and holding the camera by hand. Just not as crisp as faster panning, or panning using a tripod. :-)

In the end, I had a great day stalking people at the beach with my camera and a variable neutral density filter. I highly recommend it (both the filter and the stalking) if you get the chance!

I am always amazed at people who can do panning well. It's something that I rarely try because I just can't seem to get the hang of it. I shot for about 3 hours, and to be completely honest, my entry was sheer luck. The rest of my shots were lousy. :)

Here's 2 others (of the 226 that I tried) that I thought were fun:



I love challenges like these -- trying the techniques really helps you appreciate the talent and work that goes into mastering the techniques.
