The print has finally been approved and is available at DPC Prints (link to my gallery). Except for the very smallest (4x6) print, which I've marked up to $1, all of the other prints are at the DPC base price, at sizes up to 24" x 36" ...

As we have had a lot going on of our own I haven't got around to posting my print yet. Are we still sending to the hospital address or has Dallas moved or gone home?

Good question...I would think that the caringbridge site would be the place to start, see if he's still there or been sent home. Or just PM Denielle...

Penny, if you hear from her on this before I do, please let me know ok?

Penny, He is till in hospital, but may be going home in just under a week's time. Denielle has moved the journal to a new site, and it seems the last couple of days ave been much better for our young soldier!

I may wait a few days as I am sending from Australia and will probably miss him at the hospital if I send now. Thanks.

The photo belong to the individual photographers -- the site just has a RF license to display them.

To make a composite print we'd have to have explicit permission from each photographer whose picture is included. We can make a poster with just a few of the prints (larger) from people who volunteer/contribute their image, and not worry about trying to get every entry. Create a thread, set a deadline, and people posting a link to the hi-res image would contitute permission to reproduce it for this purpose.

Do you envision printing a one-off for Dallas only, or letting everyone who has a picture on it (and anyone else) order them as well?

This is correct. Why was this not followed?

I just learned that my photo was included in this collage being sold for money without my permission. I created my image for Dallas to be sent individually to him. Not sold for others to have copies of as part of collage or any other print.

Paul, you had the right idea here it seems... where did the breakdown happen that my photo was included without being asked?

Egads! Another violation of copyright. How long has this crap been going on?

Maybe someone can go through the list of entrants and send out a "bulk" PM announcing the project (to those who haven't already responded), asking them to list their objection (if any) to use of their photo; they can list it here by some deadline (one week?). That would make it more "officially" OK ...

WHY WAS THIS NOT DONE????

The original version of the "For Dallas" challenge submissions poster has been removed and replaced with this re-edited version.

No copies of the original version were sold. The new image is available at the base price (minimum $1.00) so no one except the printer and their shipper will make any money from this project.

I believe this promotional use of these images is explicitly allowed under Section 6.2 of the Terms of Service/Registered User Agreeement:

This includes, but is certainly not limited to email "newsletters."

Please note that Langdon (the site owner) has to personally approve all prints available for sale to the public, thus no changes are anticipated since he has already approved them. If anyone still feels this (or any other) print should not be available, please submit the appropriate ticket (under the menu Help > Contact Us > DPC Prints Administrative) directly to Langdon.

Ah HA!

Thanks General, I had been wondering why that original order had failed to go.

Good news is that I think it's about time for Kiddo to have a couple of posters. I'll go place that order now, once I find their address anyway.

Cheers,
-CB

No, that was some other problem which occerred before I took down the original.

You might want to coordinate to make sure he doesn't now get seventeen prints. It's available at a bunch of sizes ...
