Ok, what I want to know is how to convert a picture to a size no larger than 150 kb and so no dimension will be shorter than 160 pixels or longer than 640 pixels.
Do you have to have a program or can you do it without one? Thanks.

You have to have some sort of program, but even the "cheap" ones that come with the camera usually have an option to "save for web". This should change the size and automatically give it the correct proportions.

Yes you have to have some kind of a program, if you don't have Photoshop or similar program, try download a freeware program to do it, IrfanView is a great small program to do this and some other things. you can batch-rename, resize and rotate photos and some other helpful things. Even if you have Photoshop, this is a very nice addition. And the best part; it's completely free!

I thought I would just continue my questions in this reply instead of starting a new message:
I am hoping to get a nikon d70. I have heard it is a great camera and I have found it on the net for under $900 inc. the lens. What is the best kind of memory card to get? What size should I get considering the camera is 6.1 mp?
Also, I was looking at the Fuji S7000 for a friend. Is this a good camera for some one to have that wants an advanced amatuer camera? Thanks!

Hola amigo!

I just bought a Nikon D70 with Nikkor AF DX 28-80 / f3.3-5.6. Can not really compare with anything since it's my first camera, but so far what i've learned it is just a great piece of equipment!

Quality of the camera & body is really firm and good. Quality of pictures is great. There has been no problems with the camera during my first month of shooting.

I recommend a 512MB compact flash card, preferably a fast one. I myself got an Sandisk Ultra II 512. No problems and I can shoot with jpeg / maximum quality continously until the card gets full (about 150 pics). There has not been any corrupted images or any that kind related problems.

The basic lens is not perfect, but at that price it seems to be just great! I bought it just for learning to shoot and since it is not so expensive it does not matter if it gets destroyed.

For indepht analysis read stuff from:

You will find a side by side comparison with nikon d70 and canon 300d. I think both camera are equally good but nikon seemd to fit my hand in terms of grip and accessibility much better.

How about getting "GraphicConverter 5.1.1".....a swiss army knife for photos and images....it's cheap, about 20 bucks....it's downloadable.....
