Took my ma away this weekend for a ma-daughter weekend. She's into gardening so we drove all the way down to St Austell in Cornwall to visit the Eden Project. We spent several hours there on Sunday, mostly inside the bio dome things, as it was pissing it down.

And THEN you tell me you're doing a frigging Botany challenge!!

Think of it this way.

At least now, when you head back down there, you will know what to take shots of.

How far of a drive is that for you? If it's less then 250 miles, you get no pity from me.

This kind of thing happens to me all the time, too! When I took the pictures of the Native American Pueblo I got some lovely shots of the whole area. The next challenge that came up was Purple and one of the pictures I took would have been perfect but it was a day too early. The same happened with Trains, Planes and Automobiles - had a wonderful candid train shot that was ONE day too early.

I just happened to me too yesterday. While out doing some bikeing and looking for photo ops. I came to a leaf that was dangleing from a spiders thread. After takeing a few shots with my hand underneath it. It appeared to be "floating" as it was a magic trick....interesting shots...However, after the new challenge posted and started, I shot it too soon....I thought it would be a neat photo for the challenge. However, it still is....go figure and it happens from time to time. What I hate or really find interesting, after a challenge is over and votes are done. THEN I find much more better photo ops to shoot regaurding that challenge subject...Murphy's Law hits again...

Not sure of mileage but it took us a good 7+ hours each way, over 5.5 of which was driving, the rest of which was very necessary breaks.

You guys call it Murphy's Law, I call it Sod's Law, cos it's a sod when it happens!

Kavey, read your Bio and looked at your pics...I am sure you can find a subject for Botany close by. I'm gonna go out into the garden where I work and look around, but then maybe I will just look out in the street?

Good luck with it!

Thanks, and I know I could - to be honest, we're ALL surrounded by plant life wherever we live, even those of us living in deserts - it's just ... I actually took my camera with me hoping I'd find an image worth entering into Vanishing Point (and I don't enter often so that's already unusual) and then for a challenge to be announced only hours later which would have fit so well - it's just so ironic!

Yep, know that feeling well. Have some good plant shots but can't use them as they were taken last month. I'm gonna keep my eyes open to see what a London girl can pull out of the hat!

I don't know if I'll enter but I'll see if I can find inspiration in the garden or something!

:o)

I missed the Banana speed challenge while vacationing in Florida- near the Banana River.

Now I am not one to argue, but I think you will find this is "Sod's Law". Murphy's Law is what happens when I try to take photographs for the quick challenge, "What can go wrong will go wrong"
