First of all, thanks everyone who voted and commented on my photo.
I take it everyone didn't like the amount of yellow in my Blue entry. I was hoping that wouldn't be such a problem.
But, what else didn't you like about my photo? I really didn't expect it to score that low!

| Well for me it was the overwellming amount of yellow that dominated the shot. The blue sky isn't a very interesting part of the composition. Also the overall composition of the shot didn't excite me very much, seemed very much like hey there is a bunch of canoes over there 'snap' |

Okay, here's my take...
I think you could have cropped better on the left hand side either further to the left or more to the right, so the railing doesn't bump up against the edge. I think the lower right hand side is somewhat out of focus. I find the trash can behind the left hand kayaks a bit distracting (although I realize you can't do much about it). The color of the sky looks a bit unnatural to my eyes. Finally, the main reason I gave your picture a 4 was because, as someone pointed out, it screamed YELLOW! in a blue challenge.

I suffered the same fate but I did suspect that that might happen but I liked the photo so I went with it.

I didn't even notice the railing. Thanks for your critique. I need to be more critical when composing photos. |

Good points. Thanks. I didn't get many comments on my shot and I'll bet there are plenty of others that voted my photo down for the same reasons you did. |

i gave it a 7.... i thought it was kinda small (only 360x480 pixels... my screen resoultion is 1600x1200) and there arent any strong shadows anywhere in the picture to balance the light areas and lastly the color of blue that you have for the sky is a bit too yellowish... for a blue challenge there is just too much yellow...
