DPC is very slow today, is this a result of the new faster server having problems?
The homepage is taking about 20-30 seconds to load, even then some buttons etc still don't show.
I am using broadband, and other web sites are fine..?
Anyone else having this?

The problem does not appear to be the server. If you look at the bottom of the page, you will see something like "Page expelled in 0.023 secs." This is the amount of time it took the server to generate that page.
Most likely, the problem is congestion upstream from the server.

Doing some manual diagnostics, it appears that there aren't any upstream network issues from the servers, and the webserver itself seems to be responsible. From what I can tell, the connection is established at normal speeds, but there's then a 15-30 second delay before a page is returned, regardless of the time it took the server to generate the page. Hopefully, this can be resolved with a bit of config tuning...

Indeed. Perhaps the server admins restarted the webserver daemon...

I thought a period of slowness happened to: but gone now.
I'm intrigued by this 'page expelled' stat - can't see it. Also, just out of interest, can anyone tell me how much space the site requires, and how fast it's growing?

I think Terry is referring to some diagnostic text that only Site Council members can see... |
