So... my membership only has 5 days left on it. I'm seriously considering letting it go. again. dpc doesn't seem like a place for me anymore and its really sad to admit that.
I'll let it go unless someone convinces me other wise.

I don't think I could convince you to stay if you think it is time to move on. However, I will say I enjoy seeing your work, and you will be missed. |

I don't know that one person can tell another why they should be anywhere. We all have our own reasons for the things we do, and the things we do not do. They may or may not be transferrable to another.
Let me just say that if you choose to go, you will be missed.

A change is as good as rest. Shoot the things that interest you and edit them exactly how you want them without the confines of challenge definitions and rules, then when you feel like it come back into the chaos.

I'd be sad to see you go, truly. I want to follow the saga of my ex-lensbaby... Plus you do cool stuff, of course. Don't go!

NO NO NO, you should not GO!
I've felt like that on many occasions, but keep coming back, as much as I get frustrated sometimes, I truly think DP has helped me a lot. Maybe you can suggest more alternative challenges, if that's what you want, hey I would. |

ScooterMcNutty, you have been an important part of the DPC photographic community for a number of years.
Each of us makes this community ours by our actions and involvement.
However, there is only one person who can tell you to 'stay' or 'go'.
And you know who that is.
I'm sure you will make the decision that is best for you. |

Now I can think of one reason you might want to leave.
If you go, don't be a stranger. So many of the kids who start early do leave, some to great careers that we find out about later, others just fade off to who knows where. As far as DPC not encouraging you to keep going, I think we all feel that way from time to time, but really the only place that you can move forward is within yourself. You have hit all the goals on your profile, so you may feel you are done, but you can always add new ones and challenge yourself in new directions. |

I think DPC is something that evolves from one thing to the next for everyone. For me when I first started I knew nothing about photography and DPC was a school for me with great mentors. Then it evolved to sort of a game to me trying to win ribbons and get high scores. Now I'm kind of in your same situation trying to decide where I fit in, I've reached most of my goals except for ribboning in a free study, I would still like to try and reach that one. But I'm finding I am more interested in doing my own thing than winning ribbons now. The one the main things that will keep me here is the fact that shooting for challenges keeps my photography fresh and creative in a way I don't think I could achieve otherwise. |

Nothing I say hasn't been written many times before.. Your work is amazing and inspiring and it would be a shame to see you go. |

Sofia I found this quote on your profile interesting:
"Keep shooting, always try to get better, and never stop looking for inspiration." -- Danny Santos II
You are without a doubt going to keep shooting photographs and looking for inspiration. The question now is "Where are you going to SHARE that inspiration?" If not DPC which community are you going to look to share your vision and get feedback? Just food for thought.
Sometimes we need to spread our wings and try 'new frontiers'. I had/have felt at times going elsewhere, but when I 'test the waters' so to speak, no other community has appealed to me quite like it does here. |

I don't think she is "leaving" anywhere... she is just giving break from all this. I say, just let it go, and see how much you can handle it... so far for me it is much better than last year (feeling wise) and I will stay registered user until I start to "feel" it's worth to pay again... once a week challenges are good, and forums still there for you to join the conversation from time to time....
so, I say, let it go! but you probably know already what to do anyways ;) |

i just like the assignments, photography is a hobby for me and the assignments give me a reason to shoot something different than my kids. |

guys guys... she is not leaving... becoming a registered member doesn't mean you're leaving the town. Let her expire her membership. she will be entering challenges once a week... her challenge photos still here for us to see. |
