Same here. Tried to self DQ but it hasn't been 25 challenges for me since my last self DQ.

i was at mid-4 until around 20 votes. slowy climbed to just under mid-5 by 33 votes. not being boastful but this is at least a 6 shot. the voting has been just very harsh, and i was contemplating a self-DQ had it not improved some.
maybe we should limit the voting scale from 5 to 10 only for open challenges ;-)

I just dropped 0.5 in three votes. Open challenges suck. |

I wonder if any analysis has been done on whether the overall average on the open challenges since the start of DPC is lower than the member-only challenges or not. I would guess, yes and I am curious to know why, if this in fact is the case. |

Pfffft this is definitely the last open challenge I'm entering, this score is just depressing.

I got up to 5.4 before dropping again. I hate strongly dislike the update button at this point. |

The most frustrating thing is not knowing why it's not doing well, somehow makes the whole process seem pointless. |

gone up slightly (was at 3.6667 before i hit update and made this post).
As for the comment of the picture telling the 1000 words, depending on the person's perspective it could very well tell a lot of different stories in 1000 words, but why i changed my entry on the last day to what it currently is, that's the story that i can't tell. :) |

Well, I think when I get home I'm going to bump all my votes up by 1 or 2 pts to help compensate for all these damn troll votes. It's just very irritating. |

I've had a steady increase from 4.6ish to now around my typical DPC score anyways...

C'mon I'm on the road to recovery... But living in fear of the evil green trolls.
I'm beginning to think DPC is like snakes and ladders. |

It looks like our in-house statistician, DJWoodward has taken care of this analysis already. Here is the link:

The 2nd plot is what I was looking for. The grand total average of the open challenges is about 0.22 lower than the members-only challenges. |

Very interesting.
I wonder if the difference is even larger for the time period between 2010 and now. In the last year it seems to have gotten worse. |

Yes, I was thinking the exact same thing. It does seem that way to me as well, but of course we need our expert statistician to verify this for us first to be sure :) |

I don't know if this has been suggested in the past but whatabout each persons profile page showing the breakdown of votes 1-10 given out over time. I know we have the avg vote cast but it would be interesting. |

What purpose would this serve? I don't understand how knowing my exact distribution, or anyone else's for that matter, affects anything other causing flame wars.

So why have the votes cast avg? Isn't that just as pointless by your rationale?

It is, and at no point did I say we should have the average be reported either.
