As I continue to shoot and learn more about black and white photography, I have to keep in mind what the photo would look like printed in large format, not only how it looks on screen.
I have uploaded the large file of this photo to ask the question, is it clean enough to print?

I do not have a noise removal program that will clean an image above 1000px. Therefore, the finished product you are viewing has not been run through any type of noise removal program.

Any advice is greatly appreciated. If you see any other issues please let me know.

Thanks,
Scott

Is there anyone that has large images printed that could tell me if the detail would allow for a good print. I'm not interested in the weather the subject is worth, just the quality.

Sorry for uploading the large version but that is the only way IMO you would be able to see detail for print.

Thanks in advance.

That'll print just fine, Scott. Good job.

I found three free noise-reduction programs (Windows-based) at cNet.com.

If you like you current program, you could slice your original into chunks smaller than 1000x1000 pixels, run them all through noise-reduction using the same settings, and then re-assemble the large image after all are processed.

Scott can do noise reduction with DPP, which should have come with his camera. Though maybe it didn't since he got it used?

I will have to pull the box out of storage tomorrow and see. Thanks Robert.

I have never been good at slicing an image. I have never thought about doing what you suggest, but will to give it a try. Thanks.
