Huge Bronco fan here. So happy we landed Peyton Manning. So exciting! I love Tebow but if you can sign Manning, you have to
do it.
Any other Bronco fans here? Are happy? |

I'm guessing the happiest people are the Bronco receivers. |

I didn't see it coming. I think it's great. I won't be able to get Bronco's tickets. I think Peyton Manning will be a key to a Super Bowl (sometime in the next 5 years) |

SF is definitely the more SB ready team but I don't think Harbaugh, who is an offensive guy and likes to be in control, and Manning would have been a good combo. I was never very worried about him going to SF. Just not a good match from a personality standpoint. |

You must have missed how well DT and Decked both played even with a QB who struggled in the passing game. DT and Decker become houshold names with Manning throwing them the ball. |

Their receiving numbers tanked when Orton was benched.

I actually expected it once it was narrowed down to three teams. Broncos were just the most well rounded fit for him of the three. Coach Fox is exactly what Manning wants in a HC, a defensive guy with the guts to let his offense adapt to its personnel. Look at what Fox let our offense do last year, that was a huge selling point for Peyton. |

Not DTs. He got better at the end of the season. Look what he did in the playoff game against the Stealers. |

Im guessing the 95 million dollars over five years for a QB's 16th to 21st years in the game might be viewed as a bad investment even if that QB is a future hall of famer, even if his fused neck is all better. As a Niner fan I'm thrilled they didn't pay that much, and equally happy he didn't sign with a team in their conference

Another reason why the 9ers were not a good fit. The 9ers of the three finalists for Peyton were the team that needed him the least. I think now the 9ers resign Smith. I actually like Smith a lot more than a lot of people. I think next season Smith gets his TD numbers up closer to 25 and the 9ers are my pick for the SB in the NFC. |

im just joking, Denver has a good team. i mean they won their division and a playoff game without actually having a quarterback.
and I feel bad for sand fran, for some strange reason Miami is actually going after smith. Alex smith isn't very good but that team is ready to win now. do they really want to give the car to inexperienced drivers? |

It took Smith 7 years to have a good season, and to get it Harbaugh had to cut out 3/4 of his playbook he was using at Stanford so that Smith follow along and have a decent year. He can't throw long, he can't sense pressure. he can't slip a tackle and he can't run, yet he seems to want top QB money in his new contract, but the Niners won in spite of him, not because of him. bring on Colin Kaepernick! |

I grew up in Denver, I'm so excited I almost pissed myself. He will elevate all the players on the team, not just the offense. I've never been a huge tebow fan, the guy needs to play another position. I have nothing personal against him or his religion, just his QB play. We finally have a QB that can help lead the team in the direction it needs to go. I'm just worried that they don't take the right steps to find his replacement in the next couple of years. Look at what happened to the Colts, we will need to draft a good young QB in order for him to learn from Manning. |

If you look at the numbers, he plays very well outside and has a 3-1 win loss record at Mile High. I think he will be fine. If weather was a concern for Manning he wouldn't have chosen Denver. |

There's a lot of misconception about the weather in Denver. Colorado enjoys a ton of unny days throughout the year and for the most part the Winters are mild through the football season. March is usually our snowiest month. Also throughout Manning's career he has played very well outdoors, but where hasn't he played well? |

Ermmm, Foxborough! His away record against New England is pathetic. He may have beaten them twice at Foxboro/Gillette, I'm not sure. At one point he was 0-7 there, I remember that...
It's my gut feeling Denver's made a colossal blunder, unless it was their intention to pay 95,000,000 bux to a hire a tutor/role model for whoever the #2 quarterback turns out to be. I see no reason to believe Peyton's going to be able to overcome his physical problems and perform at anything approaching the level of his glory days.
And, for the record, I actually LIKE Denver, I like Elway, I like the Broncos. I had family in the Denver area for decades. I like to see Denver do well, though my loyalties now are with the Patriots and formerly were with the Chargers.

Maybe not, but is 100% Tebow better than 75% Manning? |

"The data is pretty clear: Manning is less accurate outdoors, with a lower average per attempt, lower TD rate, higher INT rate and lower passer rating outdoors. More importantly, he wins just 60 percent of his games outdoors, compared with 73 percent at home in his Indy domes."
- Kerry J. Byrne - SI.com
He has played 6 games with precipitation and 10 games in cold weather in his career. |
