A gentleman I work with purchased a very old newspaper and is thinking it is too fragile to display. He was wondering about getting it photographed and reproduced "life sized" for display and preserving the original. Do any of you know where to seek this kind of service? I don't have the tools to do that sort of thing.

I would call a history museum and consult with their archivist or conservator. They can assess its condition and make recommendations on preventing further deterioration, displaying it, reproducing it or storing it.

No offense to A&I (I used to work there), but they're not setup to be the first point of contact for something like this. They are very well equipped to make the best scans/prints etc.

Another option would be a university or large public library -- they should also know about document conservation and reproduction.
