On my home PC (I'm at work now) just recently some web pages have not been loading right. At first I thought maybe my router jas kindof jammed up and causing the internet to run slowly. So I unplugged the router for about 10 min and reebooted the comp to reset it. That didn't work. Then I ran a virus scan to see my computer caught the flu...it didn't find anything. I have not cleaned my internet history (I just thought of that) but I will when I get home tonight.
On the sitess that I am trying to access, The Decorah Eagles (there has been a thread on here about it) I understand that is streaming video but I have been on it before and I can still access sites like you tube (also streaming video)....Also MSN.com won't load correctly...However DPC is fine..Yahoo is fine...and other sites are fine.
Any ideas.

Check your hosts file in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts
It should be basically empty except for some header comments. If it's not then something is injecting stuff in it to redirect you from sites like MSN to scam mirror sites. These changes sometimes sneak past virus scanners.
HERE is some more information about the hosts file if that does prove to be the issue. |

Unless he is running a custom hosts file like I do to block known malware & adware sites.
I had a problem once with sites accessing slowly the first time I would try to access them each day, after which they loaded fine. Turned out my ISP had updated their DNS servers and the old servers were input as statics in my router. The browser was trying to access non-existent DNS servers, and finally gave up and found others to use. Once it resolved an address the first time it was fine.
Perhaps you are having some sort of DNS related issue such as I had.

Is your cat sitting on the router? Cats can overheat routers.

Not to mention the havoc that hairballs can play with a Batmobile's weapons guidance system.

You really should start keeping the your jam in the refrigerator, then things like this wouldn't happen.
