The news last week was discussing internet privacy and recommended this program. I downloaded it and have been using it for about a week be to see how well it works, so far - great!
The name of the program is Ghostery, it detects web-tags, web bugs, pixels and beacons. Then tracts and learns them and lets you control them.
It's neat because I have no pop-ups and when I go to a page it lets me know (in my browser) what ads have been blocked. You have control over what and when to block. You can stop or stop blocking at anytime.
One of the main things I have noticed is when watching YouTube, it blocks the advertising before a video begins. Also if I go to a site to play a game with shockwave it block the ad and lets me play the game.
It worth a try, it's free and has been featured on several outlets. Also not adware, spyware or malware.

I'm not promoting the program, just thought some of you would like it. Let me know what you think.

I do scott. I've been using it for some time now. It's great for some things but blocks a lot of the things I want to see haha.

I don't use chrome that often. Thanks for the link, I will check it out. I'm still using FF most of the time.

Oh...that is sweet! I just installed it for firefox.
Just go to Add-ons and type Ghost. It will be the last option there.
