Are the following safe to use in Basic Rule challenges; highlights, shadows, and contrast?
They're all global enhancements, so my understanding of the rules is they're allowed, just want to make sure before I submit tonight.

| Yes they are (since you already mentioned you would be applying them globally). |

I was worried about what was legal in basic editing as well.
I got some WONDERFUL help from the people here.
I think I've got what is alright for Basic Editing now.
Next challenge... ADVANCED. I am sure I will have questions about that one as well. lol
BTW: Can't wait to see which one is yours. This is the first challenge I have entered as well. Not doing too bad so far.

LOL... gotta love listening to others.
Once the challenge is over, post the outtake in the thread that will be created. I would like to see the other one you were going to choose (and your actual entry) of course.
I, however, didn't have any outtakes, as I shot one specific composition and stuck with it. I loved it instantly. Others don't seem to feel the same way, but it's alright. My hubby likes it, and so do I. Actually going to have it printed and framed (well, a more advanced version will be).
