Totally agree. If you work sucks at least put it out there for comment so you can improve. It it brilliant all the better. Maybe their vote shouldn't be considered in the overall score but as a "complimentary" score. |

I hope I'm not considered one of those mysterious 'voices behind the veil'. After all, I've been chat-chat-chattin'...and if you look at my profile, it doesn't look like I've submitted anything to the challenges. But that's because I just stumbled across this site a few days ago (just in time to shoot off two quick pictures for the challenges that started that day - boy do I regret that!).
So far I love this site and I know it will be super-helpful in developing my love for the hobby. Everyone around here's been really helpful when I've needed advice.
My current scores: Blue Moon=2.7485, Macro=4.9310, Mini=5.6887
At least each one is improving...I don't know if I'll ever shake that Blue Moon one, what was I thinking!?! |

It started at 3.0000 after 3 votes, climbed to a little over 5.5 after 11 votes, and has been going up ever since.
My 'Blue' and 'Macro' entries are a different story entirely. I must have been high on something when I submitted them... They're both below 5 :-(

With an average vote cast of over 6, I don't think you have anything to worry about in terms of being considered part of the problem. Enjoy the site, it is a great place to get better at this hobby.
Forget the Blue moon score. Everyone else will after it drops off your portfolio page (5th challenge completed.)

Doh. Add me to those who interpreted the challenge differently than the majority. I really wish those who scored low would leave some useful comments. The two comments I did receive only state that I did not meet the challenge.

Hi everyone. I am new here, and this is my first challenge.
I guess I am one of those who interpreted the challenge differently than the majority too.
I thought we were suppose to show that something is BIG. So I put
something small next to somthing that didn't get as a whole into
the frame, thinking THAT will show it is is BIG. Bummer. ):
Anyway, is this reason for the low Avg Vote: 4.7754,
or is it that the picture is really bad? I really like it, and was hoping to get a 5 for a first try. (:

Well.... it says - "in such a way that it conveys to the viewer that the subject of your photo is a tinier version of something that is normally larger"... ):
