Nice score for flaws, though! :)

I admit I am slightly surprised but then I'm more focused on the technical errors. People looking with fresh eyes have a different perspective.

Sweet, out of town til after the 18th...can't validate since my original file for Sports challenge wasn't on my travel packing list, so it was DQ'd.

Was sitting on a 7.1

What a way to come back to Dpchallenge after about 2 years.

That sucks. I went on vacation a couple of years back and it didn't occur to me that my entry could ribbon, so I didn't have the original with me or submitted in advance. Fortunately, I was able to walk a friend through finding my RAW file on the hard drive and submitting it.

Did you contact the SC? Usually if you're out of town they can give you an extension...

Actually you shouldn't be able to according to the rules. I believe it even tells you that if you will be out of town or possibly unavailable you should submit your original ahead of time.

Edit to find the rule

I submit that my entry was based on photograph(s) taken with a digital camera on or between Feb. xx 2012 and Feb. xx 2012. If requested, I will provide the unedited, original file from my digital camera within 48 hours. I have followed the Advanced Editing rule set, taking into account any extra rules listed above.*

I think on the next screen after entering the photo it tells you to submit ahead of time if you won't be available.

Not complaining that I should be allowed to change the rule, just a general comment of "this sucks for me". Also people wanted to know if anyone had a 7+ score, I did.

Rules are rules.

Would have like for voting to end before they DQ'd me, then I could at least take a screenshot to preserve my few moments at the top end of a challenge.

Sorry I didn't finish my thought.

They "shouldn't" if they follow the rule, however in the past they have in some cases done that. Whether it's right or wrong to do so I guess is up to them.

I expect there are a bunch of them, actually; there are some outstanding, in-your-face action shots in this challenge. I think I'll be lucky to make top-5 with this:

Voters finishing off the week on a sour note. Good luck to all in the challenge. Looking forward to seeing where some of my favorites land, and who the photographers are that took them.

Excellent shots in this challenge -- I'm hoping I can sneak into top 10 -- but I'm definitely not certain.

If you are not certain mine will be on the third page! (6.58)

Welll I'm not holding up to all you big guns!! Didn't expect to, mine has a story with it to make it more understandable. I needed more than one frame to make mine work .. and perhaps a better photographer behind the view finder LOL!!
