thats funny, i see all these beauty magazines my wife gets and i think "wow, wish i was that good at Photoshop." |

They're not all taht good. I've sen ads for slimming products in which the before and after shots are distorted replicas of the same original.

Look carefully and all you'll see is in the after shot, the hair and makeup have been done (in before pix they usually look drab and poorly lit and are unsmiling), they're smiling, and carefully posed to look thinner. And wearing more colourful and better fitting clothing!
Man, I remember the good ol days when I saw my first ever PS job. It was in a fashion mag of course, an interview with Michelle Pfeiffer. They removed a stray hair from the shirt she was wearing and a couple of other very minor fixes. |

Good on them, though this isn't directly to do with the image the beauty industry is pushing, it's down to misleading advertising. They judged that the image had been manipulated so that the effects of the product were exagerated. If it had for example been an add for a dress, it would have been fine. |

exactly. the ad is for something that is supposed to smooth the skin. it's fraud. |
