Hi everybody. would really appreciate comments/thoughts/advice for improvements on the image below. I was rather happy with it but not sure how well it will be received. Cheers Glenn

I like the shot Glenn. It's very calming.
Personally, I think it could be even better if zoomed in a bit on the bridge, since that is your subject. As is, the bridge makes a good statement, but I'm not sure if it's enough of a statement.
Maybe if the camera was turned about 5 degrees toward the bridge, so the end terminus is a little further to the right of the frame.
Nice capture though. |

To be perfectly honest, it's not really a good idea to post an image that you want to enter in a challenge in a thread and ask for feedback on it, prior to entering it in the challenge.
What you should do is post in your workshop, then ask for feedback on an image in a thread. Then you pm those who offer to critique it with the link to the image. That way only they see it and not everyone who reads the thread. |

Hi Susan. I had no intention of entering this in a challenge. I am just trying to figure out if I am on the right track or not. Didnt realise that I shouldn't add the photo to the thread. Next time I will add it to my the workshop as you suggested. |

I agree with James. I think another way to think of what he is getting at is there seems to be a lot of negative space in the photo. The water seems to dominate a bit, so zooming in on the bridge would give the bridge more of a share of the space. Another thought I had is if there were another object of interest (like say a boat), in the water, that'd add some 'positive space' to the photo. |

Glenn - you are fine with posting the images you are interested in getting critique on here. I think snaffles made a mistaken assumption that you were going to enter it in a challenge (which is generally considered bad form to do prior to challenge). This thread is exactly for the type of comments/ critiques you are trying to get.... |

My bad, Glenn, I did wrongly assume from the wording in your original post that this was meant to be a challenge entry. Sorry! |

Rereading what I originally posted, I can see why you thought I was entering it in a challenge :) |
