Hi everyone,
I'm looking to get one light that can plug into a normal socket ( i'm in ontario, canada), I want to be able to use a 60" shoot through umbrella with it, mainly for portraits, weddings, bands.... I want it to have enough power to be able to underexpose backgrounds well. I was looking at an Alien Bee, but i was wondering if there was something else a little cheaper that would work just as good. Zack Aria's is always talking about the SunPak 120J, but I guess they don't make it anymore but something like that would be ideal.
Thank you. |

The AB is prob the best bang for your buck.... I prefer Einsteins but they are a more $ then say an AB1600 now.
The sunpacks are hard to find, battery powered (if you can find a battery pack that would help) and way under the power of a big AB and you say mains power so you don't need the portability (which you can get with AB or other lights by using the vagabon mini anyway). |

| Thank you Robs... the AB800 is what I was looking at but people tell me to go with the 1600 or i'll regret it. i think the AB will be a good idea... i've been using an SB-800 but ... it's just not enough |
