Hi, I have recently gotten hold of an M42 adapter for my Canon and a Fujinon F/1.8 55mm Prime lens (M42 fitting of course)... Can I add this lens to my equipment list on my profile on here for use in challenges as I really like the lens.

I searched equipment and wasn't sure if the following was the same lens,, it looks the very same.. but does say "for canon" in the title where as mine is definitely an M42 fitting so needs the adapter... the photo does look like the M42 fitting lens i have.

Fujinon Lens

Any help appreciated.. i do assume i can use the lens for challenges even if i can't add it to my list.

There's no requirement that equipment be listed, you're fine there. And you can always reference it in your comments, using "no lens specified" in the list, until it's added, if it ever is. I have some old Olympus lenses and an adapter, and that's what I plan to do if I ever enter any images shot with them.

I don't think that lens was ever produced in a Canon mount, and if it was, it most certainly was not an EOS mount. If it were an earlier (FD) Canon mount it could not be adapted (easily) to EOS. So I think we can safely say that the listed lens should not be listed specifically for Canon mount, it is probably M42.
For these old lenses, it probably doesn't make sense to list a mount at all. For instance, this lens was produced in three or four mounts (M42, Praktina, Exakta...) and several "flavors" (early body, late body, variations in coating...) over a period of 30 years or so. Listing all the variations would be a nightmare.
In the end, what I'd do is look carefully at the construction and markings and if you feel they are the same optic, use that listing. If you are convinced your lens is something quite different, then take a photo of it and submit a request to have it added.

Kirbic, I am also convinced the lens listed is the M42 fitting as it wasn't released for a canon mount as you have stated... I have messaged the site to confirm this and sent them a photo of my lens to help.. which i post here also.. looks like the same lens to me..
