I am looking for a book about BW, ideally covering traditional approaches and an analysis of the processing style of different photographers.
So, it could even be a book not focussing on digital, if the analysis is good and clear enough.
Any suggestions?

Digital Black & White Photography
The Negative, by Ansel Adams
Two good places to start.
eta: Digital Masters: B&W Printing: Creating the Digital Master Print Some of it is a pitch for his software which is definitely not needed.

Thanks Ben,
I actually have Digital Black & White Photography in my hands right now.
Of those I found at my local library, it's the one that looked more promising.
I am glad you recommend it, it's always difficult to decide where to invest time with so many options.
Adams' one was on my hit list but not surprisingly the waiting list it's endless, and DeWolfe sounds really interesting as well.
Time to visit Amazon, then :)
