A couple of decent outtakes from the Macro IV challenge. It seemed like a shame to waste them, but I just couldn't bring myself to shoehorn these into the Blue Moon challenge. ;-)

Geez! I don't see why not! They are beautiful and they certainly contain enough blue (especially the 2nd image) to fit into the speed challenge.

What lens, lighting, etc. did you use?

Thanks for sharing :-)

The dragonfly was taken with a 70-200mm f/4L at full zoom. The spider was a 28-105mm lens coupled to a reversed 50mm f/1.8. Both were handheld.

The spider duotone was trying to simulate moonlight as a half-hearted attempt to fit the Blue Moon challenge. I suspect it would have been voted down both for not really being blue, and for being more appropriate for the macro challenge. I should have plenty of reason to hit the update button on the next two challenges anyway. ;-)
