As part of my "go to as may countries as I can in one year" goal, I'm thinking of visiting Geneva. Has anyone been here and would recommend it? I can't find much that grabs me online.

Nevermind, I chose Prague. But the question still stands about Geneva for future reference :).

I find Geneva fairly boring, and exceptionally expensive. If you're only interested in checking Switzerland off a list, there are other places I'd recommend before Geneva.

Well, I lived there for 4 years but this was 1957-61 so I doubt my impressions are of much use now :-) I did like it there, though. Nevertheless, it's the least interesting part of Switzerland, really.

we played a gig at rote fabrique in zurich and had a night on the tiles there was a great city and a good laugh,

Here are a few images I took in Geneva...I didn't spend long there but had a blast...the buzz of the people and the chattiness of everyone was so refreshing! I hope you get to go there and check it out.

I was only ever in Geneva train station / airport, but I did spend some time in Lausanne and it was very nice. If you're there in winter, it's also fun to do the glacier express or take the train up to Zermatt. I had some of the best food ever in a pub in Zermatt, I still talk about it to this day!

Thanks everyone, I'll probably leave Swizerland untill next year now, I'm sure, as with anywhere Geneva has its charms as can be seen from the pictures posted here but for this particular trip I've chosen Prague :)
