Who actually created this thread? From the main forum page, it says SDW did... but Skip is the first post....
Also, I got some errors a couple days back for a bit in the daytime, then I was totally unable to access anything on the site tonight for a few hours. |

It was I. And if you look in the forums under general you will see if created a looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of them :)
Edit to add what I was trying to post.
Your request has caused an internal error. The administrators have been notified of this error. Please try again later.
Over the last three days I have sent to a blank page with the one line statement above.
It has happened when I've went to dpc from another site and after opening up a new browser session.
It has happened while on the site when I would go back or forward from page to page.
It has happened in the forums when trying to post a reply.
It is happening now as I try to post this. I *click* post and it sends me to that blank page with just that one line message at top. The url in the address bar is //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=postex but if you copy and click that link it sends you to the forum page.
OK I have tried to post this several times with no success. I hope it's not duplicating in the forums. :/
What's up?

Assigning posts to the wrong username indicates a corrupt forum database perhaps? |

Okay... so I wonder why the original post you made for this thread is not there... at all... either.
ETA: So, is that post from Skip ACTUALLY Skip? Or is that actually you?
Curious.
The URL I was getting was different earlier tonight, it was a bit wonky like www.dpchallenge.com/dpchallengeblah blah blah or something like that.

Intermittent error message wtih Safari 5.1.2. It goes away after a while and normal operation resumes.
Chrome 16.0.912.75 does not exhibit the error message, yet.
Firefox 5.0.1 does exhibit the same error message when Safari did. |

Not sure, but it might be they are implementing some of the changes, following the getsatisfaction consultation. So perhaps the db is having a few problems while they adjust things, which is quite common. |

Needless to say, the server just got rebooted (or was at least down for quite a while). Fingers crossed it'll stay robust, I'm half-way through voting :-) |

We ran into some growing pains with the database and had to adjust the ceiling on our storage a bit. |

Things must be FABULOUS in the world, if the worst thing that has happened to us is not being able to log onto DPC for a few hours.
FWIW, thanks for chiming in, Langdon. I was starting to get withdrawal shakes... |

I typed up a long, witty response in this thread, and got the error when I hit the Post button.

I learned a long time ago to copy the message before trying to post it, if it's long, that way if the back button does not work and hold your message you can paste it back.

That's why I never type long important emails in web browser email clients. Always use outlook or copy and paste from a word doc. |

And you know what? I haven't had to retype any long and important emails due to the browser crashing, internet down etc..

Is the slower server/page loading/errors part of the "upgrade"? If so can we go without the upgrades when it worked better?
