what could i have done better, a lot commented on the single pixel nose stud, i didnt remove it because i edited for basic even if it was advanced cant remember now what the challenge was, yeah the bit of chair is annoying but does it ruin the entire picture? i liked the dynamic hair movement but was first ever portrait shoot so just want to get better?

this was my intial choice as my model had differnt coloured irises and it looked like two photo merged but it wasnt but didnt hear back from sc in time to use it

Well, I have you a 6. I thought it was technically good, but it wasn't super appealing to me.

* The B&W doesn't do her justice. You color version looks 10x better
* The top of her head is cropped off. Not a big deal to me, but others don't like that
* The biggest thing for me (and I'm being honest, not a jerk) is that with the heavy black eye liner and sunken cheeks, this has a bit of a meth-addict feel to is. Note that the color version doesn't suffer from that from at all because the eye liner isn't black and the shadows in the face aren't so heavy.

Looking at your flickr photos, I either like the color version of your entry, or the last one you posted in this thread as the best.

The lighting is just very flat and unexciting. The last one you posted was much better!!

yeah you are both right, i took to much of the shadow out fogetting that shadows are good

the crop was more a fact of trying to hold a 5d battery grip, lens pocket wizard in one hand and a hair dryer and reflector in the other haha

i like the 8090 one, think the dynamic hair pulled me in hehe,

mike dont worry i want honest and she my friend not my gf so its ok hehe :) yeah think i should have re thought my choice and more dynamic lighting is called for

i dont like seeing lots of shadows on females. i go back my days of trying to draw comic books and rule number one with female faces was less is more. every line or shadow adds age to the woman.
