couple of photos of a Crocosmia the day before the flowers bloomed. i only took 6 shots. i thought about both for Macro IV - but realized they were taken too early../

I think having everything in focus on the second one would have looked better. The shallow DOF looks a little odd.

i did try a smaller aperture, but i couldn't get the BG blurred as much as i wanted.

The image posted on the right is very much my favorite. I think a median-ground was needed on the image on the right - not the entire plant in focus, really - but the entire lower half of the image is all out of focus, so it's a bit distracting to me. Maybe a crop-job could help out? There is a great picture in there. I'd be proud to get a shot like the one on the right. Just beautiful!!!

unfortunately both these photos are cropped more than i tend to like to crop - so until i get a macro lense - this is about as close up as i can get.

if you've never seen these flowers in person - they are quite amazing - the intesity of the red is crazy.

Never seen the flowers in person but the colour and shape is quite amazing! Do like that second image!

I'm partial to the second image! Very good colors. Can't wait to see them in full bloom.
