Three valuable things I learned from this thread:
1. You are all mental.
2. 'The (London) bridge's relocation was the basis of a 1985 made for TV movie Bridge Across Time (also known as Arizona Ripper or Terror at London Bridge), directed by E.W. Swackhamer and starring David Hasselhoff and Stepfanie Kramer.[9] In the film, a series of murders in Lake Havasu is attributed to the spirit of Jack the Ripper, whose soul is transported to the United States in one of the bricks of the bridge.'
3. You are all mental. |

I think "Three things I learned from this thread" must be the next open challenge subject.

Well I for one am glad I got to see his work, it was inspireing and his descrition helped me to understand Tilt shift more than anyother research I've done... It is obvious he did not understand the rules, why else post that it was a Poster, no attempt to decieve here.
For peeps seriously po'd here.. Think How Po'd he has to be at hisself for winning a blue and now getting DQ'd... The SC will deal with it, I'm sure as soon as they read his statement they knew what had to be.
Sorry m_a_r_c Great try and THANKS for the explanation!!

Thank you Judi, and can we also just add that it was not DQ'd for lack of original photograph, so it was actually a real photo of a poster as he said initially but, it was suggested he stole an image from the internet and simply edited it.
Thanks |

Nearly all of this post just saddens me. I'm pretty sure from the first post this thread violated forum rules, and it just snowballed from there.

I really liked that London Bridge shot, it got my highest mark of the contest. Kind of sucks what all went down afterwards though. I definitely gave him the benefit of the doubt when it came to it being an honest mistake of not knowing the rules. However, after opening both his entry file (screen capture) and the file that Giles found in Photoshop, I saw that they overlay perfectly with no distortion, complete with the same JPEG artifacts. It really looks to me like he just downloaded the file and processed it. If I'm wrong, big apologies, but I wouldn't say that if I weren't 99.9% sure.
I backed into the Yellow Ribbon (my first) with the DQ, and honestly, I would've preferred that his entry were an honest winner and I kept my honorable mention. I'm happy with my result either way, but would've preferred a untainted ending to the contest. |

Brilliant. Kind of like playing a Beatles classic written with a tempo of 120 bpm at 90 bpm and calling it a different song. LOL.
