I have not used actions in Elements and I'm wondering how many of you use them...why and how

I tried to put some free actions into my PS Elements 10 the other day but it said I needed to download gimp to run the actions...is this true or am I missing something.

I did download the gimp (as well as some other malware that I'm trying to get off the computer...deep sigh) but I still can not open the files (ATN)

Any advice or direction(s) will be appreciated

Some actions which will work in Photoshop will not work with Elements, if they use features found only in the former. GIMP may run some actions that PSE will not.
