I am wondering what tools or system people are using to archive and organize their photos.
I have a lot of photos, but compared to many on this site, I think I have but a few.

Do you just keep buying more, successively larger hard drives?

How do you keep track of all of those files? Keywords, meta-tags, folders, collections?
Or do you have a great big virtual shoebox that you just throw all of your photos in?

My primary drive was running low on space (1TB drive). Most of the usage were from my photos. I off-loaded a year's worth to a secondary 2TB drive to free up some room. I copied them onto a second drive for safe keeping. I back up my main drive to the cloud (CrashPlan).
Terrified of a hard drive crash. I have had these as well as a bunch of old Canon CRW raw files that got corrupted.
I am terrible about indexing and organizing. Basically, folders by date.

Thanks!

Well....

My current setup is the following.

1x 1TB HDD Backup
1x 150gb HDD which I carry around with me
50gb DropBox
and access to 14.2 TB worth of storage space at work.

Whenever I get home from a day of shooting regardless in studio or out and about. I immediately copy the entire card and renamed by date to my 1tb HDD as a backup . Then I start deleting images off the card if they are blurry or horrible. The one's I like are simply moved into categorized folders on my DropBox account folder creating yet another backup. That's pretty much it for me. Some of my absolute favorites are uploaded to my website as well.
