Gone for a few hours. It IS metal, it is a macro shot, it is part of something most of us have in our kitchens, although not all of us have metal ones and not all of the metal ones look exactly like this.
I'll sort out the bodies when I get back.

Looks also like a macro shot of a VLSI IC. |

I will say that this is an extreme macro, the distance between adjacent "like features" is 0.635mm. There is a clue to the nature of the where these "contacts" reside in the photo. It may take some manipulation to figure it out.

Nope not on a battery. Bear in mind, they are contacts, but not the mate/unmate kind you're thinking about.

I'll give ya that. They are SMT "lands" (where components are attached) on a circuit board. A memory stick is just a specialized format of such a circuit board. The clue was the green stripe at far right, which some might recognize as the green "solder mask" that covers almost all circuit boards.

I was thinking even smaller, along the lines of the Cuprate interconnects of a semiconductor chip, focusing on the leads.
Anyway, I just got back from a theatre shoot. Here is the next one.
