Tube of glue is closest. It's a push-on cap for a tube of caulk. The material is actually a silver plastic.

I just got home from work. Let me see what I can find.
Ok, here it is. Let's see if anyone can guess what it is part of or what it does there.
We need to work out a plan so that if someone has to be away from the computer, the game can continue. I feel like I let everyone down when I was up next and had to leave for work today.

That was quick. SDW hit it first try. I shot the photo so that I would know how to reassemble it after I took it apart to replace the chain when it broke off inside the switch.
