That was an unexpected hit but it was the only thing I could think of that looked like that. Let me go find a mystery object to photograph. |

I alomst wanna say "Robot Nipple" but I'll say it's the nut that holds on the top of an old dispenser of sort. |

It holds the top, but not on a dispenser. |

Looks as though it must be on a lamp/light. |

Cory is in the right ball park, but not quite there yet.
Here's a hint. The stud is 1/4"-20 tpi thread.

A part of a flashlight? Some adapter or whatever
ETA. or disposable cylinder adapter that connects to a propane cylinder

1/4" - 20! Obviously it's a tripod head... just like lampshade brackets. |

Mr Yo has it. This one was built in Oct. '62, so it's 51 now. I collected them for a while.

Really, October '62? I happen to have one sitting in my office that is also red, and also built in October '62. It's a 200A, and that looks like what yours is. |

That's a coincidence. This one is the 200A model, and is stamped 10----62 in the bottom of the tank. The 200A was the most popular of all the Coleman lanterns.
They used to occasionally publish a folder of papers, mostly ads, about the products that they used to make beginning around 1920. It was called "The Coleman Light Issues". I have a copy from about 1988 or so. I doubt that they still publish it now though. |

One helluva coincidence! Same model, same color, same manufacturing year and month! I picked mine up recently at a flea market. Wasn't looking for one, but this one was in beautiful shape, with the original box, and the aluminum "compartment" on the bottom with extra flints, a wrench, some pump parts and spare mantles. It also has the flint-based lighter, which I'm not sure was on all of them. |

From what I've seen on Antiques Roadshow that may be more valuable than the lantern ... |

Even more of a coincidence-- I was also born in October 1962. Although I'm not red and probably not as bright as that lamp. |
