For fun I pointed it at my dog. He did not appear assaulted. Then again he was fairly occupied trying to lick his butt.

Seems that it must be a one way valve on a container of some sort.... bit what it is? I'm stumped! Don't think I've seen this before..
Closest thing I can think of is a soap holder on a power washer. |

Maybe these are more rare than I thought.
It's a handheld battery powered device. Nothing goes in or out of it, so it's not a valve. |

This is a relatively new version of a device that every single one of you has used. The older version operated differently and was used in either your mouth or your ass. |

Ear thermometer. I thought of that I while ago but didn't think it would fit in your ear if the cone was dime sized.

Hmm. Hadn't seen one of those.
I thought of an IR camera/goggles, but the configuration was wrong, as that would be extremely low resolution. |
