Perhaps a better question is 'why eccentric people are creative?' :)
Fact is, eccentricity is not always that evident, even in creative people.
But you normally will find quite a few quirks in those looking for that kind of escapism. |

Could it be less Ego to keep the Id in check? So they don't really care if other people judge them, they just take joy in expressing themselves.
Am I remembering my psych 101 correctly?
