If anyone's interested in a Fantasy Golf season via Yahoo Sports, I've formed a DPChallenge league.

I *think* this'll take you where you need to go:

//golf.fantasysports.yahoo.com/

Once you make a team, you have the option to join a group > join a private group > enter following info:

DPC Golfers
Group ID# : 3325
Password : photographer

There's not much of a time commitment involved; each week before deadline (usually Weds night) you go to your team page and pick a lineup of golfers for the weekend. You pick 8 (2 A-group, 4 B-group, and 2 C-group) and play 4 of them (1 A, 2 B, 1 C). You can sub in any of the 4 bench golfers for any of the active golfers in his category at any time for the next day of play. It's kind of fun.

Interesting, I've played Fantasy Football, Fantasy Soccer, Fantasy Cricket...but never Fantasy Golf. Assume the basic principles are the same, just need to read up on the rules/scoring system and I'll join up.

EDIT: Robert, each player only gets 10 starts, correct? How many matches in total are played?

The entire PGA season. But you can, and arguably should, start a different lineup every week. Save your heavy hitters for the majors, that sort of thing. It's not like baseball and football where you pick a team at the beginning of the season and then work with them, or make trades, as the season progresses. In this format, you can pick horses for courses, so to speak.

Each week they'll have a selection list, broken down into categories (A, B, C) and you can SORT that list by various criteria, including previous performances on the course being played, so there's a lot of information available.

But, as you say, you can only use a given player 10x in the course of a season.

Thanks Robert. What's also interesting is that you can sub bench and players for each day of the tournament. So if a player is playing poorly, can drop him and play the bench player. I wish I could've done that with Football!

Yup. That saved me a few times last season. It especially comes into play is one of your starters misses the cut.

The PGA season starts up tomorrow in Hawaii. Be a good time to join Coulson and I in the DPC Fantasy Golf League. You can join up any time of course, but why not start at the beginning. If you are a golfer and/or a golf fan, this is easy, not time-consuming, and lots of fun.

See the first post for details.

Better make your picks soon! First tournament starts tomorrow!

PS, Robert....each player only gets 10 starts. If I have a player on the bench, and decide to play him on day 3 of the tournament, is that considered a "start"?
