i need some serious help for my playoff game. its a high stakes league and quite a bit of money is a stake.
my dilemma is my QB, I have rothlisberger. He's banged up and may not even play. plus its against the 49ers on Monday night.
Do i ride with him or roll with someone who has upside and will definitely start on Sunday, since i wont be able to switch him out at the last minute, unless its with Alex smith who is still available. Its not like Rothlisberger has been lighting up the world, but he's been consistent.
my options are are... rex grossman vs NY, TJ Yates vs Carolina, Andy Dalton vs StL, or John Skelton vs Cle.
That all that's left on waivers.

I would roll with Andy Dalton. I have used him this season and he has done well. Plus he is facing a very weak D in Stl. |

Yeah that's where im leaning but as a Giants fan I know their defense is absolutely horrendous. Rex grossman torched them for over 300 once and he lit up a pats defense last week that's is a tad better than the Giants.
i thinks its going to be one of those two...

Yeah but Grossman has ALWAYS been one of the most unpredictable QBs. Just like Delhomme. Sometimes you get the Good Rex, sometimes you get the Oh my God can you even call that a throw? Rex. |

skelton has quietly gone 4-1. not sure how gaudy his #s are though. i'd probably go with dalton, in the words of bart scott....st. louis "can't stop a nosebleed" |

that why i cant decide what to do.
interestingly, the option to split the pot was proposed to the four teams remaining. we are waiting on one to agree. I'm in for the split. My team is in shambles right now and i got lucky with a strong start and weak schedule (8-0) to earn a bye. I've lost 3 of 4 and would have gotten creamed last week if not for the bye. |

I have Big Ben as well and I am sticking with him if he is playing. He has a history of having big games when he is supposed to be hurt. If he is out then I would roll with Rex. Rex may have his ups and downs, but he will always get you yardage and a TD or two... along with a INT most likely, but probably better than any of the others. Dalton seems like a good choice, but I think they will run a lot versus STL. |

the problem is Big Ben plays Monday night, so if he's out, the only other option would be to play Alex smith if i were to sign him. since every other qb would have been done playing by then. |

Yeah, it is tough. I'm essentially stuck with Big Ben. I am in a 14 team league, so my only two options are Hasselbeck or Gabbert. If I was in your position I would probably go with Rex just to be safe. He is a better bet than Alex Smith against the Pittsburgh D. |

Pick up Alex smith and roll the dice on Monday night. At least that way you'll know how many points you need for the win and it will make Monday nights game extremely exciting to watch. |
