I've got this problem too! I'm really not that bothered by it though, it doesn't show up on any of the images.

I think they will repair it,give them a call tomorrow.
I wouldn,t leave it as you are concerned about it.

Yeah, I'm definitely going to call and send it in, I feel like I'm being so picky, but it's such a big investment and feel like I need to take care of it during the warranty and return period promptly to get the best results. I just don't to regret it down the road when it's too late.

I've got the same problem on my 4-year-old 400D, which I hardly use any more. To be honest I'd forgotten all about it, but when I took the camera for a free sensor cleaning, the guy noticed the spot and said the camera would need a service to remove it. I was horrified at what I was quoted, and decided that it was a total waste to spend that on my back-up body when it doesn't affect the photos. I suggest you get yours attended to now while it costs you nothing.

Yup, definitely what I was thinking especially since I've had time to sleep it over. The only thing I lose it time with the camera for at worst a couple weeks, at least it would be taken care of when it does cost nothing other than time. So maybe I was exaggerating when I said huge, but it's enough to drive me nuts every time I look in the viewfinder.

As much as I love new toys, I'd be sending it back. A new camera should be in perfect condition. Worse than the thought of a distracting hunk of crud in there, is the idea that something isn't right and either isn't sealing properly to keep crud out, or something is shedding crud inside the camera. This camera should not have passed the quality checks. As one who tends to keep cameras a long time, I want them right when they show up.

Agreed. It's just gonna suck to be cameraless for a while.

So, it'll be pretty painless, they're going to do a straight swap, so I'll have a replacement in about 2-3 days. That's a lot better than having to wait for service which is 2-3 weeks.
