Not exactly an out-take, but I made this overlay to show how I thought my subject fit the Golden Spiral ... I went with it when I found the top of the arch fitting the spiral so closely.

I didn't enter this one as I anticipated there being lots of shots of roses and I thought there wasn't much chance of someone else entering a shot of a guitarist sitting in a garden, lol. Maybe I should have though since my image didn't do very well!

That was an interesting week.
Went to Oxford and at the end I realized I had a few shots which reminded me, even if loosely, of artists I like.
That's the uncropped version of my entry, which I titled Caravaggio for the light, but actually is kind of ispired to Monet the way I then cropped it (at least, I think, I have a vague memory of a Monet painting framed so to only include the chin of one of the subjects)

That's another one, which loosely reminds me of 'Bacchino Ammalato', a painting of Caravaggio. I liked this one too, but I found the highlight on the top-left corner a bit distracting and could not find any convincing crop which would exclude it.

Then I had one which was taken with the challenge in mind and very loosely reminds me of Magritte and surrealism. I made two hundred crops and processing attempts and then discarded it altogether, also because I was unsure selective desaturationover the whole image would be legal :)

Last, I had one which reminds me of blade runner and steampunk, again loosely, which my wife likes but honestly is not that great and would have required significant processing prior submission.

Mark, Alessandro, thank you very much for the feedback!
I posted these a bit late so I was really not expecting any.

So, either the first one or the second. Good to know, I am so bad at cropping and even worst at deciding on differen versions of the same image/subject :)
