Just got an email regarding the impending release of Topaz Adjust 5:
Topaz Adjust 5
Anyone use Adjust 4 enough and like it enough to be interested in this at all? |

I've been beta testing adjust 5 for about a week and a half. Some nice new features. If you already have adjust 4, it is a free upgrade. V5 picks up the license key from the previously installed version.

Looks good. I am pretty sure I have 4 which makes it even better :). Love the split screen view. |

You think they are making any hints towards the current Doors, Gates, Knobs, Locks & Handles Challenge as the first image from the post is that of a lock?
Hmmm.. |

Steve, do you consider it a major jump from 4, or more a minor revision? I wasn't too blown away with Adjust 4, so just curious whether Adjust is more refined. Regardless, I'll be demo'ing it when it is released. |

It allows stacking of effects, like we can do in some of Nik (and surely in response to them) so that's major right there.

It's pretty major, IMO. The adjustments seem about the same, but they have added a lot of features and conveniences. The interface is reworked, there are now local adjustments available, including a localized undo brush. The presets list is categorized including a category for your own custom presets to go into. Changes can be applied to a new layer (which does not work under PaintShop Pro, which handles layer information differently).

It went right into 64-bit CS5 no problem, but for some reason 32-bit CS5 wasn't realizing it was present. I had to manually create a folder in the plugins file for 32-bit and copy over the bbf file to that to get it to initialize. Seems OK now.

If you're not already an Adjust owner, Topaz is currently running a 30% off special for Adjust, the entire Topaz Bundle or upgrades to the bundle. Good until 11/30/11.
See here for the link and coupon code.

It's a major upgrade with 107 new presets among other features.
The main thing I wanted to point out in this post is it's NOT just a free upgrade from version 4. If you have version 2, 3 or 4 you can get the upgrade. See the website for any special instructions.

I have the entire bundle and a weird thing happened. I went into Adjust 4.0.2 and asked it to update but it said it was the current version. I had to manually download the new bundle pack (just to make sure their weren't any other updates)
Going to enjoy the new look to Adjust 5....seems like a major update to me. |

My first impression is completely positive. I can't wait until all of the plug ins use this UI style.
The extra adjustments are incredibly powerful, So many extra creative options. |

I have the whole bundle as well. I only downloaded the Adjust update and it installed fine. They styled the new version after the B&W effects layout. Much nicer now.

What's really funny is that in their tutorial you can see Nik Software is installed on their computer also. It's right above Topaz Labs in the Filter drop down menu. I would think that they would remove Nik's software before allowing it to be 'advertised' in their tutorial. |

Not really. Every webinar and/or tutorial video I've ever seen the competitors plugin's are always in view right along side the vendors own. I see your point, but I think they all realize that most people serious about photography will have a variety of plug in sources. It's like the photography community in general...very open and sharing with knowledge and I like the fact that the major vendors realize there is room for all. I'm sure that all the employees of any given plugin vendor have the "competitions" product on their own computers. It's also pretty apparent that most of these people know each other from conventions and photo shows and are actually quite friendly with each other. If the rest of the world was like this we'd all be better off.
