We just purchased four new Olympus cameras at work.

Wonder if the warranty may just outlast the company. Sad news indeed.

Wow that is too bad. When I had my Olympus it was a great starter camera for me. Thanks for sharing.

Wow. 1.5 billion dollars siphoned out of the company into offshore accounts. Sounds like de-regulation is working in Japan too. It is a shame to see a good company swamped by the creative accounting of executives.

That's so sad and pathetic. My very first digital camera was a 1.3 megapixel Camedia by Olympus. It's a great little camera if you don't mind the lag when you shoot, lol! Pretty big, too! :p

My only decent film camera and my first digital were both Olympus. Service for Olympus has always been a bit of a problem in South Africa, but I was still considering buying a PEN. Now I really don't think it's a good idea.

I was considering getting a PEN too!!! Costco has a good deal going on...

My first digital was an Olympus, it took great photos.
