Maybe there's a food bias. Perhaps if you cooked the duck...

For a while, my black and white scores were my best. Then after some experimenting, color took over. . .and now my second best shot on my profile page is again B&W. I would say that I have only avoided a brown ribbon by luck and circumstance, and that I can't imagine only shooting in either Black and White or Color.

Dont worry about it be happy you have joined s select grup of photographers whos efforts have been rewarded by their peers.
You should know by now the fickle nature of fame today the brown tomorrow the world.

Some times this place gets too serious and hung up on placings, enjoy your photography. If you are happy with a photo thats satisfiying, If someone else enjoys it thats a bonus.
I have "won" the Brown on several occasions, I am agrieved that this is not honoured on myprofile with the colour ribbon, My entry in the Next challenge will definitely be down there among them!!!!!

I wish! Even after looking at some of the photos just above mine, I can't see what I did to earn the brown.

exactly what i was thinking, especially the hamburger.

don't despair, go for the posthumous in future, its way more fun.

That would be okay. Unfortunately posthumous didn't like it either.

I gave it a 6, which is normally the highest score I give without commenting. I like the texture, color, mood (all the stuff that DPC dislikes), but I didn't give it a closer look because of the subject matter (duck and reflection) and composition (central subject with an even amount of space around it, very static). It was close, though!

i thought the hamburger was awesome too, especially the one really ignorant comment that was left.

if you want to cook the duck i say we roast it over a fire and have a party we all need it!
