Just wondering if anyone out there knows if Time Lapse photography wears out your shutter quicker? it's something i've been getting into but I just bought a D700 and started to think about the shutter firing that much for long periods of time and if it will harm the shutter or lower the life span of the camera?

Life is too short to worry about wearing out your shutter.

Click that shutter every chance you get, son! You won't grow hair on your palms!

Sure it puts additional wear on the shutter, but look at it this way. A shutter that's designed to last 100,000 operations may fail in the first 30,000, or may go 300,000. There's really no way to know. If it goes, have it replaced, and don't look back. It means you're getting good use out of that camera body!
