Hi everyone ! I thought I would introduce myself, I just joined the site today. My name is Kaylee and I've been doing photography for a few months now and I absolutley love it!I hope to have my own studio someday. I recently got a NikonD3000 and I love it, but, I can't seem to figure out manual mode quite yet ! I would love to also get feedback -good or bad- on my photographs! That is all :)
You can gain some experience by doing some intern work for me if you like. I've been thinking I could use some help trolling the dpchallenge forums, and a crew of interns might do the trick.

I'm OK with that as long as you don't try to pay me off with a $2 cheque.
Welcome to DPC Kaylee. Good luck with your photography. There are a great family of people here to help you. Just remember to have fun whilst you're learning.

yes! welcome! i'm excited to see you grow and create a style all your own! :) (a membership is very much worth the price, that way you dont have to enter challenges to post photos! and we can comment and critique your photos)
hehe... anyways!! its a really fun group here and you will learn LOTS!!!
Welcome to the site. While manual mode does have it's uses, and the only mode I shot in when I first got a manual mode camera (which I believe was a mistake now), using Aperture or Shutter priority is much more useful and easier as well.
Examples, shooting someone skateboarding over gaps or waterfalls, shutter priority is nice. Set the shutter fast enough to freeze motion or slow enough to get the milky water look and let the camera do the rest.
Shooting portraits Aperture is nice. Set the Aperture how you want to achieve the desired DoF and let your camera handle the shutter.
These two modes let you control how you want your photos to come out but are much quicker than full manual.
