I recently discovered that I am regsitered as a contribuitor with Alamy. It was a long time ago and I didn't upload any files yet.

I thoought it was a macrosotck site, but for what I recently saw it has became a microstock one. Is this the case, or am I mixing thins up?

Any of you folks also with Alamy? is it worth it?

I'm already putting photos in Pixmac, 123RF, CanStockPhoto, Dreamstime, Istockphoto, fotolia and shutterstock and I don't want to spend time with another site if it is noth worth it. Any other stock site that you recomend?

AFAIK they are a macro-stock (rights-managed) site, but they may have a "micro division" as well ... I'm registered with them, but no longer have a camera which is on their "acceptable" list so I don't have any images posted there.

There are lots of threads regarding all questions Alamy.
Specifically, this one which is huge and spans multiple years.

They accept both RF and RM images as well as news images. They also pay out 60% to the photographer so you should totally consider uploading to them.

They have some RF licenses that are on par with microstock pricing but most of their RF sales are in the $20-$200 range

Ok so it is a mix stock site.... kind off...

But they say you don't need to be exclusive. So you can put there the same photos you put on the other sites.

Or you choose the photos to be rights managed and those photos you don't put on other sites?

Don't put the same photos at a rights-managed site and at a royalty-free site -- that will get people angry. Photos you post at RF sites you can post at all of the RF sites ...

Alamy used to be a macro site. Recently, they've started selling at micro prices. The same image might sell for $10 or for $250. They are my bigger producer in terms of income.

Well, I would stay the hell away from Fotolia. They play games with the W-9 form. They say your W-9 doesn't match what they and the IRS has on file. (But they won't be specific about what doesn't match.) I've used the exact same W-9 with many other firms, no problem. Fotolia is playing games. And apparently, they are doing the same with a lot of other contributors. I spoke to an employee, who said in an unguarded moment, they don't really care about photographers.

You have been warned.
