I have been playing around with ripping metadata out of images just for a side project and tripped over something interesting (yeah I check it's not my code... windows agrees - ok ok I get that means nothing but it's a confirm okay)....
Picture#1 - Planes in the sky at sunset - Distance = 17.1 meters - Um.. really? If you say so, far be it for me to disagree with the PHD types at Canon.
Picture#2 - My youngest kicking a soccer ball - Distance = 4,294,967,295 meters - Well shit, no wonder my 70-200 does not have enough reach :-).
Q1: This goes into the Ettl-II algorithm for flash power... Riddle me this... What sort of flash is necessary for Picture#2 at iso100/f8?? [keep in mind, the earth's diameter is what 13,000,000 meters give or take].
Q2: What lens do I need to get a 3/4 shot? - The damn hubble?? |
