Has anyone used OneStopDigital?

They are Hong Kong based, came up top on a shopping search through Google. They claim to be offering a full VAT refund if you are charged any VAT or import duty. Just wondering if anyone has bought via them and then taken advantage of the VAT refund?

Not used them, but I'd be wary of anything that says no import charges. I don't think it's possible to avoid the customs/import duties though (and they can be quite high). I've ordered stuff from non-Euro places and before I could have the goods delivered had to pay the customs duty. So I really cannot imagine how they can avoid it, especially if they use DHL and FEDEX.

Not sure my comments are worth anything since I haven't used them, but I'd be a bit suspicious.

I've considered them recently as well. They do have a huge number of good reviews on Google shopping (1500 or so) with many people saying the import tax hasn't been a problem. I'm still wary about it though. I bought a lens from a US based DPCer and got stung when i went to collect it (it ended up being more expensive than if i'd bought it new in UK) even though she'd put 'gift' or something on the packaging.

Got my 70-200 from them about 4 years ago- dead cheap - pukka goods - no hassles at all.

EDIT - Holy moly - just looked at their site - prices have gone up a bit since then - I got my 70-200 f2.8IS for £998

My friend used the. Co.uk version and got the import duty refunded on importing to Ireland. He sings their praise.

Ok, thanks for your responses. Still a way off buying my new kit so I will see... know a guy who get's 30% staff discount so might be a better option than buying from Hong Kong :-)

I've also been looking at procamerashop who seem to ship from within the UK but have similar prices to onestop digital. Not sure how they do that ( i assume it's grey market as well.) They seem legit from what i can gather from some ok reviews.
