		| | I use a 7D body full time, and I have a 50D body as backup. My question is, how often should I run the batteries on the 50D and recharge them? Is it bad if I just leave them charged, in the camera, and don't run them down until I actually use the camera? |

		| | Alkaline or Lithium Ion? Lithium Ion batteries have no memory effect, and a slow loss of charge when not in use.
And, Alkaline batteries have long shelf lives and they do not suffer the 'memory effects' of Nickel-cadmium batteries.

So, it's Nickel-cadmium batteries which have the memory problem.

 Edited based on research.

		| | You should store Lithium batteries at 50-60% charge, as it's less stressful on the cells. Otherwise, no issues. And definitely do not store them low on charge, that's a death-sentence. |
