Hello I have just been offered the 28-80mm Canon EF 2.8-3.5 L.
I wanted to buy a 28-110 canon 3.5-5.6 and i got offered this 28-80mm Canon EF 2.8-3.5 L lens for 1/3 of the price.
Second hand of course.
Im wondering if I should buy it is works well. Im also wondering what is so nice and why are the L canon lenses so expensive. It is a fast lens but besides for that why is it so pricy? I dont know if I should get it. What do you think. I think it could be a pretty handy lens.
Please comment thank you |

I'm no expert, but I believe what makes the L series lenses so expensive is the quality of the glass, etc. You get what you pay for and the L lenses are top quality stuff, so you pay top bucks.

keep in mind your 1.6x crop size.
28-80
equals
44.8 - 128
And yes, it's the quality of the glass. f/2.8 is pretty good. (I wish I had some!!) |

My main concern is that i need a lens that can be my standard walk around USEFULL single lens, for when i only want to carry one around. I need something that is practical for general photography.
Do you think this is what i need.
Also, i would appreciate if people could comment on what they use as a general every day lens.
Thanks |
