2012 is the 10th year anniversary of DPC. I suggested a "10th year" photo book, but I don't think that will happen. So, I decided to do something from myself once again.
I will be handing out 25 DPC hats with "10th year anniversary" print on them. Those hats will be giving away to the winners of random challenges in 2012 starting sometime after March (could be later or earlier)
I also will be creating a very simple book of DPC Collection, with very limited prints on it. I probably will be ordering around 5 of those for special challenges (not known yet)
If you want to participate doing similar giveaways for the 10th year anniversary, post them here. |

Just a thought...
So, already the same 5 or 6 people have weighed in on this DPC related thread. Just my opinion, but we may as well already call this "non-approved-book" "The Best of DPC".
As far as I am concerned, there is no fair way to choose photos or a panel.
Unless someone with nothing to gain picks the photos for said "book" (I agree with JulietNN). No one will EVER be happy.
It will only ever be a sorry popularity contest.

I suggest another DPL, an official update on the future of DPL, or at least a response to all of the unanswered requests for DPL from so many people. |

I don't agree, it is very simple. Why not post here your Top 3 DPC photos of all times (can't be your own) and then pick those that repeat the most. To me it is not the same as statistical Top Favs. |

After I ordered the hats, I will be collecting photos starting from 2002. I am not sure if there will be 100 photos in my DPC book, but it will be done for giveaway. If you'd like to create your own books, it would be great actually have a print in hand and hand those out instead of PDF files. Idea of 10th year anniversary giveaway to have something in hand rather than in hard drive. I have done books for clients, they don't cost a lot. Starting from as little as $10. Depending on the size of the images, there would be 20 to 100 images fit in the book.

if you click on "Buy this book", prices start from $10. I will give 5 DPC books free though. I can't sell them because of copyright issues. |

I think that the giveaway's that  FocusPoint has suggested is a great idea to celebrate the 10th anniversary of DPC and the more participation in the anniversary celebrations the better.
I'm sure that  Langdon has some ideas on how he wants the site to celebrate but that's not stopping us organizing our own events particularly anything we can do offline.
That's why I'm suggesting a simultaneous get together worldwide! See this thread |

I still think the book is a fun idea!
Regarding the hats -- wonderful!
However, DPC is more than just winning. (did I just say that???)
For the 10th anniversary, I would really like to see the hats (or maybe something else?) go to people who have made this a great place to be. I'm a competitive person, so I would have stayed for awhile. But it's the people that are the reason I've stayed for 2.5 years.
I'm thinking categories, and people can nominate others. Here's an example:
The dreamers who inspire us:
Ursula
Gyaban
Posthumous
The Mentors:
bear_music -- wait! He already has a hat!
People who make this a wonderful place (why I keep coming back):
