The lyrics from this classic song are diverse and interesting. Pick a line and capture an image that fits.

...now to find a dry levy. ...and a Chevy.

Better make that "NOT the movie" clarification to Leroy directly.

Ha, we should do one based on the movies. One of my good friends was a major character in one of the films. I could use her as a model.

"february made me shiver....with every paper i'd deliver..."

actually read up on this song a bit...fascinating! don mclean has never answered the question "what do the lyrics mean?" although it's obviously about the crash of "american pie" (the plane which carried buddy holly the big bopper and ritchie valens) his one answer to "what does american pie mean" was "it means i never have to work again"

so the lyrics are all open to interpretation but we'll never know the majority's intended meaning.

Check out this fascinating (and obssessive) website for the "meaning" of the lyrics. If you can get past the really clumsy site design and the terrible grammar/spelling errors, there's a wealth of terrific information/speculation there.

That's something I never noticed about here--there's a pretty good standard of speaking/talking here. Funny that it's the lack of this that annoys us, and the lack of the lacked annoys us.
I appreciate y'alls :-)
